Been a couple of weeks since I participated in Waiting on Wednesday (hosted by Breaking the Spine). It’s not because I don’t have books I’m eager to start reading. It’s because I’ve had a harvest of great books come in on reserve at the local library as well as having a few wishes granted by the good people at NetGalley.
However, there is one book coming out soon that I’m looking forward to reading. Andy Weir’s Artemis. Like many, I read and enjoyed The Martian and have been curious to read Weir’s next novel. Will he be a one-hit-wonder? Can his next book possibly live up to the hype and expectations? I’m not sure, but I’m intrigued to find out.
Here are all the details from GoodReads:
Jazz Bashara is a criminal.
Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you’re not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you’ve got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent.
Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down. But pulling off the impossible is just the start of her problems, as she learns that she’s stepped square into a conspiracy for control of Artemis itself—and that now, her only chance at survival lies in a gambit even riskier than the first.
Artemis hits shelves, e-readers and audiobook on November 14.
